The six firms who have already got the license for online bill payment of electricity are eSewa, Prabhu Bank, Mahalaxmi Development bank, CFS Remit, City Express. The online bill payment is cost-free and some mobile apps, Kiosk, POS devices would also enable the online payment procedure.

Moreover, soon some more banks such as Himalayan, Nepal Investment, Nepal Clearing House, would get the license and launch their services in collaboration with NEA. NEA is also known to come up with Smart metering solutions that will help them get rid of manual meter reading and implement a fast online payment
This procedure has impacted many in a positive manner. The hour-long queue one has to get into just to pay the bills keeping aside all the other important works, now has come to the end. The procedure would much more be helpful to the rural resided people as the category had to travel a long distance disbursing about Rs 400 just to pay Rs 80 bills to the headquarters.
