Malwarebytes creating issues for users on Google and YouTube
Users of Malwarebytes encountered a significant problem today with reports of the majority of popular browsers and linked services being flagged as malicious, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Gmail, and Google Drive.
Malwarebytes addressed the problem on Twitter. We are aware of a short-term problem that might be preventing access to some domains, including http://google.com, with our product’s web filtering feature. As soon as we have more information, we will update Twitter. We are actively working on a fix.
Although Malwarebytes did not specify what caused the issue, its most recent tweet indicates that it has been fixed. Users may need to download and install the most recent version of Malwarebytes in order to resolve the problem if they are still having it on their device.
