Television sitcom ‘Friends’ series first episode aired on September 22, 1994, on NBC, and the rest was the history.
Friends’ series is about six young adults living in Manhattan, New York. It featured David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and Jennifer Aniston as Ross Geller, Phoebe Buffy, Chandler Bing, Joey Tribbiani, and Rachel Green. The entire cat of FRIEND Series was below the age of 30 when the first episode aired and was relatively lesser-known till that point, but that soon changed to a crazy fan following worldwide.
During the initial days of FRIENDS, David Swimmer was the highest-paid actor amongst the 6. It was in later episodes where the swimmer was conditioned to be paid equal to all the main cast and the production team happily obliged. The friendship between the core members strengthen over the course of time and each one kept on gushing over their co-actors every time possible. Even to the date, we can find them meeting each other time and again.
There was this post by Jennifer Aniston, where all six had a get-together and she created her first Instagram account with the get-together photo of the main cast, well that broke the internet. Aniston became the first person to get 1M followers in 24 Hours and her picture with the cast of Friends was the most liked picture on the internet. If that doesn’t express the craze people have over the show till the date, I don’t know what else will.

Each main cast was paid $22,500 by the end of the season-1 and the amount kept increasing after the growing popularity of the show. By the 9th and 10th season, each cast member was roughly paid $1 million per episode making the highest-paid TV actors during that time. It is claimed by the source that each of the cast members bagged $2.5 million for 1.5 hours of reunion episode on 27th May 2021. The reunion episode aired decades after the final season and all that happened because the crazy fan following of Friends kept asking and twitting about it.
Case makes millions annually just off the royalties.
The Six main characters of the FRIENDS series, to date, earn two percent of the show’s syndication revenue, making $20m annual income. The math breaks down to the $1 Billion income that FRIENDS brings to Warner Bros from the syndicated reruns. Thecate members are also rumored to grab a good amount from Netflix year.
