Beyond Meat boss is accused of biting a man’s nose
Doug Ramsey, the chief operating officer of Beyond Meat, was detained this past weekend following a fight in a parking garage after an Arkansas Razorbacks football game.
According to the Washington County (Ark.) Jail’s booking records, 53-year-old Ramsey was charged on Saturday with making terroristic threats and third-degree violence. He was released on a $10,000 bond on Sunday.
Ramsey punched through the back glass of another man’s Subaru in the parking garage during a road rage fight, according to the preliminary campus police report that local Arkansas news station KNWA/Fox 24 was able to get. The Subaru had hit Ramsey’s car’s front tire.
The preliminary report claims that once the Subaru owner exited the car, Ramsey repeatedly hit him and bit him on the nose, “pulling the flesh on the tip of the nose.” Ramsey allegedly threatened to kill the man, the man added.
After Arkansas’ match versus Missouri State, a responding police officer discovered “two individuals with bleeding faces” at the garage outside Razorback Stadium. People from both cars came out to assist in separating the two men.
University of Arkansas campus police did not immediately respond to messages from USA TODAY.
Ramsey spent 30 years at Tyson Foods before being named COO of Beyond Meat in December 2021. Beyond Meat’s queries to USA, TODAY on Tuesday morning were not promptly answered.
